TikTok Profile Scraper
Read any public TikTok profile as JSON - bio, avatar, verified status, live follower and like counts, and their follower and following lists.
Read any public TikTok profile as structured data
Whether you are vetting influencers, watching competitors, scoring account authenticity or enriching a CRM, the job starts the same way: turn a TikTok handle into reliable, machine-readable profile data. The TikLiveAPI profile scraper does that in one GET request - no headless browser rendering the profile page, no proxy pool, no login, and no risk that a layout change silently breaks your parser.
Authentication is a single X-Api-Key header against https://api.tikliveapi.com. The scraper reads only what a logged-out visitor can see, so no TikTok credentials are ever involved.
The profile object, field by field
One call to /userinfo-by-username/ returns two blocks. The user block carries identity: id, uniqueId, nickname, signature (the bio), avatar URLs in three sizes, verified, privateAccount, createTime (when the account was created, as a Unix timestamp), bioLink when the account has set one, and secUid - TikTok's stable account identifier, explained in what secUid is and how to get it. The stats block carries the numbers: followerCount, followingCount, heartCount (total likes received), videoCount and diggCount.
curl "https://api.tikliveapi.com/userinfo-by-username/?username=tiktok" \
-H "X-Api-Key: YOUR_API_KEY"
{
"user": {
"id": "107955",
"uniqueId": "tiktok",
"nickname": "TikTok",
"signature": "Your next discovery is waiting on TikTok.",
"verified": true,
"privateAccount": false,
"createTime": 1425144149
},
"stats": {
"followerCount": 95951715,
"followingCount": 1,
"heartCount": 464729186,
"videoCount": 1593
}
}
Already storing numeric IDs? /userinfo-by-id/ returns the same shape keyed by userid, so refreshing saved accounts never requires re-resolving handles.
Beyond the profile card
Follower and following lists
/user-followers/ and /user-following/ return a profile object per account - unique_id, region, follower_count, aweme_count, verified and create_time (account creation) - up to 200 per page with timestamp pagination. This is the raw material for audience-quality audits.
Content output
/user-posts/ pages through the account's videos with per-video engagement counts, so you can compute posting cadence and average engagement rate per follower.
Discovery by keyword
/search-user/ finds profiles matching a phrase - a niche, a brand name, a competitor - and returns their stats inline, ready to rank.
Collections, playlists and likes
/user-collections/ lists public saved collections, /user-playlists/ lists the series a creator has organised, and /user-liked/ returns liked videos only where the user has made likes public - most accounts keep them private.
What teams build on profile data
Influencer vetting
Cross follower counts with the follower list itself: a 500k-follower account whose audience is dominated by zero-post, recently created profiles is a red flag. The full method is in detecting fake TikTok followers programmatically.
Creator discovery
Sweep /search-user/ across niche keywords, filter by follower band, then rank by engagement per video. Worked through in the micro-influencer discovery guide.
Competitor tracking
Snapshot competitor profiles daily and diff the stats blocks - follower velocity and posting cadence tell you more than any single number.
CRM enrichment
Map handles in your database to verified status, bio links where set and live audience size, refreshed on your own schedule.
Step-by-step tutorials for these calls start with Python and Node.js, and the same walkthrough exists for other languages on the blog.
Scope and data hygiene
Private accounts return only what TikTok shows publicly - the profile card, not the content. TikLiveAPI keeps none of it: each request fetches the public profile from TikTok and forwards the response to you in real time. What you receive is the public profile described above - IDs, handle, nickname, bio, avatars, account flags and counts - plus the linked-account fields TikTok includes (ins_id, twitter_id, youtube_channel_id, youtube_channel_title), and a bio can hold whatever contact details the creator chose to publish. Privacy duties attach to the copy you keep. If you store profile data about identifiable people in the EU or UK, GDPR governs it - keep a lawful basis, honour deletion requests, and set retention limits - and the CCPA can apply to data about California residents. Frequently Asked Questions
How do I scrape a TikTok profile by username?
Call /userinfo-by-username/ with the username parameter and your API key in the X-Api-Key header. One request returns the full public profile: a user block with id, uniqueId, nickname, bio (signature), avatar URLs, verified and privateAccount flags, secUid, createTime and bioLink when one is set, plus a stats block with followerCount, followingCount, heartCount, videoCount and diggCount.
Can I get a TikTok user's follower list?
Yes. /user-followers/ takes the numeric userid and returns follower profiles up to 200 per page, each with unique_id, nickname, region, follower_count, following_count, verified flag and create_time. Pagination uses a time timestamp you pass back on the next request, and /user-following/ works the same way in the other direction.
How do I check if a TikTok account is verified?
The profile response includes a boolean verified field in the user block. You get it from /userinfo-by-username/ or /userinfo-by-id/, and the same flag appears in /search-user/ results, on entries in follower and following lists, and on comment authors. Video author objects do not include it - they carry only id, unique_id, nickname and avatar - so check a creator found through a video feed with a profile lookup.
Does the profile scraper work on private accounts?
Only for what TikTok shows publicly. A private account still returns its profile card - name, bio, avatar, follower counts, and privateAccount: true - but its videos, likes and other gated content are not accessible. The API reads exactly what a logged-out visitor sees.
Can I monitor follower count changes over time?
Yes, by polling. Store the stats block on your own schedule - daily is typical - and diff snapshots to get follower velocity, posting cadence and engagement trends. Each refresh is one call to /userinfo-by-id/, which costs one credit, so tracking even hundreds of accounts stays cheap.
Is scraping public TikTok profiles legal?
Reading publicly accessible profile data has been treated favourably by US courts, notably hiQ Labs v. LinkedIn on the CFAA question, but platform terms and privacy law are separate issues. If you store data about identifiable people in the EU or UK, GDPR governs your copy regardless of how it was collected. This is engineering guidance, not legal advice.
