TikTok Scraper

Scrape public TikTok data through a hosted REST API - no proxy pool, no headless browser, no login. One key, 38 endpoints, JSON on the spot.

A TikTok scraper you call, not one you maintain

Scraping TikTok yourself means running headless browsers, rotating residential proxies, solving the signature parameters TikTok adds to its web requests, and repairing all of it every time the app ships a change. TikLiveAPI removes that layer entirely. You send a plain HTTPS GET, you get structured JSON back, and the proxy pool, the browser fleet, and the signing logic are somebody else's problem.

Everything the scraper reads is public data - the same profiles, videos, comments, hashtags and sounds any logged-out visitor can see. No TikTok account, password, or OAuth flow is involved at any point. You authenticate with a single X-Api-Key header against https://api.tikliveapi.com, and each successful request costs one credit, from credits that never expire.

What this TikTok scraper can pull

Profiles and audiences

Resolve a handle to a numeric ID, read the full profile with live follower, like and video counts and the account's creation date, then page through its follower and following lists. See the TikTok profile scraper for the full field list.

Videos and metadata

Collect posts by creator, hashtag, sound, playlist, collection or keyword, with captions, durations, cover images and per-video engagement counts. Details on the TikTok video scraper page.

Comments and replies

Page through the top-level comments on a video and expand threaded replies, each with its text, a like count and the commenter's handle and region. Top-level comments also carry a reply_total count. See the TikTok comment scraper.

Hashtags and challenges

Look up a challenge by name or ID for its view and creator counts, then page through the videos posted under it. Useful for trend tracking and campaign measurement.

Sounds and music

Read track metadata and list the videos using a given sound, so you can spot an audio trend while it is still climbing rather than after it peaks.

No-watermark downloads

The download endpoints return direct MP4 and MP3 URLs for any public video, so archiving and re-processing never requires stripping a watermark yourself.

Scrape your first TikTok profile in one request

There is no SDK to install and no job queue to poll. Register, verify your email, copy the key from your dashboard (how to get a TikTok API key walks through each step), and call the endpoint:

curl "https://api.tikliveapi.com/userinfo-by-username/?username=tiktok" \
  -H "X-Api-Key: YOUR_API_KEY"

The response is JSON on the spot - no run ID, no dataset to fetch afterwards. Trimmed to a few fields:

{
  "user": {
    "id": "107955",
    "uniqueId": "tiktok",
    "nickname": "TikTok",
    "verified": true
  },
  "stats": {
    "followerCount": 95951715,
    "heartCount": 464729186,
    "videoCount": 1593
  }
}

Every other endpoint follows the same shape: a GET, a few query parameters, and a JSON body. The full parameter reference lives in the documentation, and you can fire real requests without writing any code in the API playground.

API pages by data type

Users, videos, downloads, hashtags, sounds and search each have their own API page, with the endpoints behind them, the fields they return and a request you can run.

Users and audiences

The TikTok User API for profiles and followers resolves a handle with /userid/, reads the profile and stats block from /userinfo-by-username/, and pages follower and following lists at up to 200 accounts per call.

Videos and engagement

The video metadata and stats endpoints cover creator feeds, single posts and keyword results: /user-posts/ returns up to 35 videos per call, each with play, like, comment and share counts.

Clean video files

The no-watermark download API turns a public video URL into a direct MP4 link plus an HD copy, and /download-music/ returns the audio track as an MP3.

Hashtag reach

With the hashtag and challenge API, one call returns a tag's total view_count and user_count, and /challenge-posts/ streams the videos posted under it, with an optional region filter.

Sounds

The sound and music endpoints read a track's title, author, duration and video_count - how many videos use it - from /music-info/, and /music-posts/ lists those videos.

Keyword search

The search API for users, videos and hashtags takes a plain keyword; video search adds publish_time windows from the past 24 hours to 6 months and sorting by relevance, like count or date posted.

Hosted scraper versus building your own

Proxies

A self-hosted scraper needs a residential or mobile proxy pool to avoid blocks, which is usually the single largest line item. Here it is included in the credit price.

Browser automation

Playwright or Puppeteer fleets cost RAM and CPU per concurrent page. A REST call costs one HTTP connection.

Breakage

TikTok changes its web payloads and signing regularly. When that happens the fix ships on our side and your integration keeps returning the same JSON keys.

Cost shape

Credits are pay-as-you-go and never expire, so an occasional research burst does not require a monthly subscription. See pricing.

If you are comparing hosted options specifically, the Apify alternative and RapidAPI alternative pages set out the differences in run model and billing. Coming from TikAPI, the TikAPI comparison sets subscription plans against credits that never expire.

Staying on the right side of the line

This scraper reads public data only. It never logs into an account and never touches private or friends-only content. TikLiveAPI does not keep what it reads either: each request fetches the public data from TikTok and forwards the response to you in real time, and the only thing retained is the request count for your API key. Responses carry the public fields TikTok itself exposes - handles, display names, bios, avatar URLs, stable IDs, timestamps and engagement counts - and each endpoint's reference page lists them field by field. In the United States the Ninth Circuit held in hiQ Labs v. LinkedIn that scraping publicly accessible data likely does not violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, though that ruling addresses one statute in one jurisdiction and says nothing about a site's terms of service or about privacy law.

Privacy duties such as the GDPR and the CCPA attach to the copy you keep. If you are handling data about people in the EU or the UK, the GDPR Article 6 lawful-basis requirement applies to whatever you store, regardless of how you obtained it. Frequently Asked Questions

What is a TikTok scraper?

A TikTok scraper is any tool that reads public TikTok data - profiles, videos, comments, hashtags, sounds - and returns it in a structured format you can store or analyse. Self-hosted scrapers drive a headless browser through the site and parse the result. TikLiveAPI is a hosted scraper you call as a REST API instead: you send one authenticated GET request and receive JSON, with the proxies, browsers and request signing handled on our side.

Do I need proxies or a headless browser to use it?

No. Everything runs on our infrastructure. Your side of the integration is a plain HTTPS GET with an X-Api-Key header, so it works from a server, a laptop, a serverless function, or any no-code tool that can send a GET request with a custom header. There is no proxy pool to rent and no browser fleet to keep alive.

Can I scrape TikTok without an account or login?

Yes. The API only reads data that is already public, so no TikTok account, password, cookie or OAuth token is ever required. You authenticate against TikLiveAPI with your own API key, not against TikTok.

Is scraping public TikTok data legal?

Scraping publicly accessible data has been treated favourably by US courts - the Ninth Circuit in hiQ Labs v. LinkedIn held it likely does not violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. That is one statute in one jurisdiction and it does not override a platform's terms of service or privacy law such as the GDPR, which still governs what you store about identifiable people. This is engineering guidance rather than legal advice; check your specific use case with a lawyer.

How much does the TikTok scraper cost?

It is pay-as-you-go: each successful request costs one credit, credits never expire, and there is no monthly subscription. New accounts get 100 free credits once the email address is verified, and an occasional research burst costs only what it uses. Credit package prices are on the pricing page.

What happens when TikTok changes its site?

The fix ships on our side. Because you integrate against our REST response shape rather than against TikTok's internal payloads, a change to TikTok's web app does not change the JSON keys your code reads. Live availability is published on the status page.
